Ondo Governor, Akeredolu Orders Suspension Of NURTW Indefinitely

Governor Akeredolu Of Ondo State Orders Indefinite Suspension Of NURTW.

Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has ordered the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to suspend its activities in the state indefinitely.

He ordered all NURTW members to vacate all motor parks across the state right away.

Last week, the Governor had announced that the suspension of NURTW and RTEAN activities in motor parks would be for only two weeks.

The indefinite suspension would not affect RTEAN, according to Akeredolu, who spoke Tuesday through his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties and Strategy, Dr Doyin Odebowale.

Akeredolu said the decision to suspend NURTW activities indefinitely was based on the union leaders’ unruly and uncultured behaviour.

The brutal assaults on members and innocent civilians, he said, were intolerable.
