Danny Ings Makes A Surprise Move To Aston Villa From Southampton.
Danny Ings has joined Aston Villa from Southampton for a reported fee of £30 million.
After Leon Bailey, Emiliano Buendia, and Ashley Young, Ings is Villa’s fourth summer acquisition.
He scored 46 goals in 100 appearances for Southampton after joining from Liverpool in 2018.
“Danny is an outstanding Premier League footballer who has scored goals wherever he has played.
“He is also a top professional with a great character who will be a leader in our squad and a role model for our rapidly developing young academy players who are now in and around the first team,” said Villa boss Dean Smith.
‘Southampton Football Club can confirm that it has accepted an offer from Aston Villa for forward Danny Ings,’ Southampton simply tweeted.
Ings, who was about to enter the final year of his contract at St Mary’s, turned down a four-year contract offer in July that would have made him the club’s highest-paid player because he wants to try out for another club.
