Man Sets Himself, His Ex-wife, And Two Children On Fire In Ibadan.
Ahmed Saka, a Nigerian man, set himself, his ex-wife and two children on fire after threatening to kill his ex for leaving their marriage.
Saka and Mutiat lived in their home in the Shogoye region of Oyo State, according to sources. Mutiat recently told Saka that she was no longer interested in their relationship and that she would be leaving him permanently. Saka became enraged and tried to kill her. Saka carried out his threat by setting fire to their home on Wednesday night, April 7, killing Mutiat and two children and injuring four others with serious burns.
Aside from Mutiat and Saka, Ramon Sarumi (10) and Abiodun Oladele (7) were two other children who died. Bisola Oladele, Lateef Sarumi, Aishat Sarumi, and Wosilat Sarumi are among the victims who have suffered severe burns.
At around 5:10 a.m., one of the neighbours, Olaide Aliu, reported the incident to Mapo police station. The Divisional Police Officer in Charge of Mapo and other detectives were sent to the scene as a result of this. After taking photos, police officers transported the bodies to the mortuary of the State Hospital in Adeoyo, Ibadan, for autopsy.
The injured, on the other hand, were taken to the Anglican Diocese Hospital in Molete for immediate medical attention.
CSP Olugbenga Fadeyi, the state police command’s spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said an investigation into the matter has begun.
