Lai Mohammed: COVID-19 Cases Have Risen In Nigeria As A Result Of NYSC.
Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, has said that the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, is one of two factors for the increase in COVID-19 cases in Nigeria.
According to the minister, individuals who defy COVID-19 safety standards should be held responsible for the rise in COVID-19 instances in NYSC camps across the country.
Mohammed further claimed that more positive COVID-19 cases had lately been reported in Nigeria as a result of the federal government’s intensified COVID-19 testing.
The minister said:
“Two things are responsible for the high cases of pandemic reported at the National Youth Service Corps camps. One is because of consistent testing that has been taking place in NYSC camps.
“The second reason for the high cases is that Nigerians have actually let down their guards”.
Lai Mohammed added that Nigerians are no longer taking preventive steps such as social distancing, hand washing, and hand sanitization on a regular basis.
