President Buhari Meets With Military Leaders And Others To Discuss Escalating Insecurity.
President Buhari is meeting with military leaders, the Inspector General of Police, and a few ministers in the presidential villa’s council chambers.
The meeting comes a week after the president was instructed by the national council of state to convene a security meeting to discuss national security challenges that presently endanger the protection of people and property across the country.
At today’s security meeting, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the President’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.), are all present.
The ministers in attendance include Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior; Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Major General Bashir Magashi, Minister of Defense (retd.)
Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, Chief of Air Staff; and General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff, were also present.
