Principals Of Kosofe’s Public Schools Are Concerned About The lack Of Teachers To Teach Islamic Studies And Christian Religious Knowledge.
The principals of public schools in the Kosofe Local Government area of Lagos State have decried shortage of teachers to teach Islamic Studies and Christian Religious Knowledge.
They appealed to the Lagos State Government to employ more teachers for those subjects as offering the subjects would go a long way to address moral decadence among students and make them offer the correct number of subjects in the school.
They made this known during a visit to the schools by Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Kosofe Area Council, as part of its activities of the ongoing MSSWeek.
In his comment, the Amir (President) of the Area Council, Mallam AbdulHafeez Animashaun, stated that the Area Council shall continue to do its best to mitigate the situation as efforts are ongoing to get volunteers to teach Islamic Studies in all the affected schools till the Government employs more teachers.
He also said that most of the topics in the school curriculum for Islamic Studies have been fused into the topics that are being treated at its Friday weekly gathering (usrah) for the benefit of the students.
The principals thanked MSSN for its impactful programmes and pledged their support for its activities and programmes.
