Famous Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has revealed that she auditioned for the Big Brother Naija reality TV show five times but wasn’t selected.
The Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking time disclosed this during a recent interview with Cool FM.

According to Hilda, she had planned to compete on the show and become famous before embarking on her cooking marathon.

“I actually tried to get on Big Brother [Naija] for a while. I think I auditioned about four or five times.
“The plan for the cook-a-thon was still in the pipeline, so my goal was to go to Big Brother and then come out and do the cook-a-thon,” she said.

Hilda Baci is the current holder of the Guinness World Record for marathon cooking with 93 hours 11 minutes, setting a new record after beating Indian chef Lata Tondon 87 hours, 45 minutes cooking marathon in 2023.
