Yerins Abraham, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, will make his Nollywood debut in the upcoming comedy series ‘Okirika.’
On Tuesday, Yerins announced the news on his Twitter account.
“Glad to inform that the Okrika TV series will be my first film and movie debut,” he wrote.
Real Warri Pikin, Mercy Eke, Ini Edo, Korede Bello, Woli Agba, Broda Shaggi, and Priscilla Ojo are among the nollywood stars it features.
Others are Jide Kosoko, Olaiya Igwe, Yinka Quadri, Binta Ayo-Mogaji, Toro Aramide, Yvonne Jegede, and Jide ‘Jblaze’ Oyegbile.
‘Okirika,’ produced by Muka Ray, screened at an event in Lagos last September.
The comedy movie series centers on the fairly used clothes trading business in Lagos. It also incorporates the nuances of street area boys.
Speaking about the series, Ray said “Being one of the happiest people on earth, Nigerians have an enviable knack to indulge in what makes them happy. Cinema figures have shown that comedy attracts huge patronage.
“And comedy skits on social media are widely viewed. We are quite aware of what Nigerians are passionate about. ‘Okirika’ will surely wow their fantasies.”
Ojo, coordinator of the project, also said “Although we are going to be entertaining you, taking out the stress, making you laugh, and catching fun; Okirika will also be educative.”
Yerins exited the Big Brother Naija reality show’s ‘Shine Ya Eye’ series in August, 2021.
