Al-Mu’minaat Distributes Food Items To Widows In Ijebu-remo Zone

Non-profit female Muslim organisation, Al-Muminaat (The Believing Women) has distributed some food items to widows in the Ijebu-remo zone. This is to ease the pain and hardship occasioned by the lockdown and restrictions imposed by the government to contain the spread of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The believing women organisation was able to distribute over eighty (80) widows packages and each widow was given a package of staple foods like Semovita, 2kg of Rice, Beans,1litre of Groundnut oil, Instant Noodles, Sugar, Tomato puree, and other condiments.

It is Al-Mu’minaat strong belief that empowering women especially widows will not only impact on her alone but also on the children. Hence, the organization decided to support the widow and the government to contain the spread of Covid-19 by giving staple foods to women within their capabilities.

The beneficiaries of the relief packages chanted prayers and praises upon Al-Mu’minaat Ijebu-Remo Zone and her leadership for their noble act.

Mrs Aderemi Okunnuga from Ikenne, who was highly overwhelmed with the relief package given to her family said:

“Al-Mu’minaat it shall be well with you and may Allah accept all your struggles, thank you very much for putting smiles on my face”.

Also, Mrs Lameed Ramot, mother of six, from Sagamu Local Government was marvelled with the relief materials given. According to her:

“It is on point and came in at the right time.”

Mrs Anifowose Fatimah from ijebu North, Mrs kubrah Nurudeen from yemoji LCDA, Mrs Hassan from Leguru LCDA, Mrs Nimot Abdul- Rauf from Ijebu-Ode Local government and others were also delighted at receiving the palliatives.

More widows from various Local Government gave kudos to Al-Mu’minaat Ijebu-Remo Zone on this giant strides and pray for the betterment of the Organization.

The zonal Amirah Hajia Fauziyah Abdul Gaffar appreciated all the donors and members who are always thoughtful about the needs of the people around them by regularly donating to make widows happy especially during the lockdown and Ramadan period.

She commended the National Amirah of the organization Hajia Nimotallah Abdulquadr and her cabinet for their relentless effort to bringing people-oriented ideas into fruition.

Abdul Gaffar said:

“We are also indebted to all other stakeholders in the zone for making the widow aid programme a success.

All the beneficiaries were delighted to receive the gifts especially at this period.”

Al-Mu’minaat is an NGO striving to uphold the tenet of sound Islam and preaching same. The Ijebu-remo zone of the organization consists of Six Local Government areas including Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Yemoji Local Government, Ijebu-north Local Government, Leguru Local Government, Ikenne/Remo North local Government and Sagamu Local Government.
