Muslim Students Hold Training On Fish Farming And How To Generate Halaal Funds.

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Ogudu-Ojota Central Branch, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, held a Business Enlightenment Program (BEP) where they trained over a hundred Nigerian youths on fish farming and Halaal (permissible) ways to generate funds for business.

Towards A Greater Economy” was the theme of the event which took place at the NIA Nursery and Primary School in Ojota, Lagos. The practical fish farming training was led by the fisheries officer of the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Sanusi Monsurudeen Wale.

The program’s second aspect, Generating Halaal Funds was led by the Group Head, Retail Banking & Head Shariah Department, Lotus Bank Nigeria, Alhaja Oyindamola Dada.

Explaining the idea behind the training, the Amir (President) Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Ogudu-Ojota Central Branch, Mallam Sulaimon Dhikrullah said:

“Our country is in serious economic crisis, naira devaluation, geometric increase in prices of commodities, the center can not hold! This and many more triggered the idea of the Business Enlightenment Programme (BEP).

He added that the program was designed to expose Nigerians to the opportunities in the fish farming business and as well enlighten people further on how to get money from non-interest financial institutions to finance their startups.

Free fish training packs were gifted to the first 50 participants.
