Retired Nigerian footballer, Segun Odegbami, in a new interview with ThisDay, said that Mikel Obi shouldn’t be taken to AFCON 2019 because he is no longer the player he used to be.
In his words:
“Recall Mikel? History is against such a decision. Mikel is not the player he once was. We have seen his best and it cannot be recreated or better. What did it fetch?”
Odegbami also added that if old players do not retire, the new players cannot emerge.
