Just In: Sudan’s President Steps Down, Military Seizes Power

After 30 years in power, Sudan’s president, Omar Bashir, has been forced to step down. Bashir, who came to power in 1989 after he lead a coup against the then Prime Minister of Sudan is currently under house arrest following his resignation.

He was accused of war crimes and genocide against his own people and following months of protests by the people he has finally resigned.

According to reports, the military has already taken over power and Sudanese protesters have taken to the streets to remove
images of Omar al-Bashir.
