Ijebu-Remo ZSF Foundation Gives Out Food Items To Residents!

The Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation (ZSF), Ijebu-Remo Zone has distributed packages of food items to residents of ljebu-ode, Ogun state and its environment to ease fasting in the holy month for those who are less privileged.

Each of the package contained, Rice, Beans,1 Ltr of palm oil,1 Ltr of Groundnut oil, Salt, Sugar, tea bags, tomatoes pastes and other condiments.

Special packages were also made for lmams to cushion the effect of the lock down which has affected the economic base of many families in the state.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which affected movement and inline with ZSF Head Office policy on this year lftar Saim (food for the fasting observers) the distribution of food items were divided into seven phases.

The first phase covered ljebu-ode, ldowa, lsiwo and Odosengolu. The second phase of the distribution covered Ijebu Igbo, Ago-lwoye, Oru Awa and llaporu while the third phase covered Abigi and ljebu Oni in Ogun water side, the fourth and fifth was held in Remo axis (Sagamu lperu, lkenne, Ode, lsara and Ogere) and the the sixth phase at Nigeria Correctional Centre ljebu-ode respectively.

The other phase was of the distribution was a cash payment to each of beneficiaries which was done in collaboration with Global Crown Foundation For Help another NGO where N 2500 were given out to 53 beneficiaries.

The Zonal Coordinator of the Foundation, Mallam Abdullateef Lawal appreciated all the donors who were always thoughtful about the needs of the people around them by regularly donating to make others happy especially as the lock down and Ramadan hits the people.

He also further eulogised the donors for believing in the Foundation to deliver the trust bestowed on them.

“In all, a total of 75 packages were prepared for the widows, 34 for the all community Imams and 454 packages for the other less privileged persons in the society. Each packages contained food stuffs and condiments, excluding the food items presented at the Correctional centre,” Lawal said

He said the Foundation, an NGO registered in the year 2000 have been reaching out to the less privileged, the vulnerable, the aged, people with special needs among others for twenty years now.

“I commend the Executive Director, Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation, Prince Sulaiman Olagunju ZSF Head office team for its countless efforts to bring the idea into fruition. I am also indebted to all other stakeholders in the zone for making the year’s distribution a success,” Lawal said.

He said the year’s distribution wouldn’t have been a lot easier if the Executive Director of NGO didn’t collaborated with ZSF for the trust. All the beneficiaries were delighted to receive the gifts especially at this period.

The Chief lmam of Abigi in Ogun state, Alhaji lmam Musiliu Balogun water side who also doubled as the Chairman League of lmam and Alfas ljebu Land appreciated the efforts of Z and S Foundation and it’s donors who moves from the nooks and crannies of the community to alleviate the sufferings of the people.

The Principal inspector, Adekomaya Abdulsemiu of the ljebu-ode Correctional Centre who received the food items on behalf of the Deputy inspector appreciated the Foundation for their regular donations to inmates.
